Founder and Director of Make Creative Studio, Angie serves the community of Richmond, Virginia with a passion for art and Jesus. When she is not busy with the studio and her family, she is running, painting or creating something. After answering the call with her family to move to inner city RVA several years ago, she began to see beauty in what she thought were the most unlikely of places; an alley, an abandoned house, the faces of the impoverished and downtrodden. She believes that if we look closely enough, there is beauty to be found everywhere and in everyone. Holding a special place in her heart are people in recovery from addictions. Addiction is ugly, it’s hard and it’s unpleasant; but it is also beautiful in the courage, bravery and strength that comes from fighting back. Her artwork on display today is influenced by the porches of Church Hill and most recently, the porch of the Ellwood Recovery House. She used wood rather than canvas to convey the architectural feeling of the porches. See more creativity at her vintage and art booth (#28) at @RVAntiques or @makestudiorva.
