Artist Beth Nichols Marriott Beth has been painting in oils since 2008. She loves God, people and nature and is fascinated by portraiture and the challenge of expressing the personality of a child, an adult, (and sometimes a pet!) She also finds the wonder of God in nature.
Beth has had the privilege of taking art classes from Loryn Brazier, Peter Fiore, Michael Shane Neal, David Tanner, Jane Joyner, Robin Caspari and the VMFA. She won a first place award at an Art Works multimedia show for a portrait of a child and his teddy bear. She’s a member of the Portrait Society of America. She has been influenced by the art of John Singer Sargent, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Joaquin Sorolla, and Everett Raymond Kinstler.
Beth finds great joy in creating art and her mission is to:
"Trust God to use my art to delight people and draw them closer to His love, majesty, power, and mercy."
Beth retired from full-time ministry in 2020, after serving for 18 enriching and fulfilling years at a Richmond church. She is excited about this season of life and more time to devote to creating art. However, she was married to Phil in 2018 and purchased an 8-week old English Cream Golden Retriever in 2019, and they often vie for her time and attention. Beth calls Richmond, Virginia, home and creates art in her light-filled sunroom.
She would be delighted to talk with you about creating a painting for your home or for a gift. Beth can be found on Facebook (Beth Nichols Marriott) and Instagram (@bethnicholsmarriott) and is currently designing a website.
