Dear Friends and Make Supporters,

It is with a heart full of gratitude and blessings that I write this letter to our faithful studio family today. The last seven years have brought much growth and excitement to the studio. We have slowly and steadily built a ministry that cultivates creativity, faith and community through art. Growth also brings opportunities for exciting change. In particular, Make is excited to announce several administrative changes to help foster this progress.

In January, God placed a strong feeling on my heart that it was time to begin exploring other opportunities for my personal pursuit of art. In His perfect timing, God placed the next leader in our midst. I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Hannah Kehrer, our faithful Art Teacher and Studio Administrator, will begin her role as Executive Director of Make Creative Studio on July 1, 2026. Hannah brings a wealth of experience in the art world with a B.A. in Painting and Printmaking from VCU, as well as a heart for the greater Richmond community. She has faithfully served with the team at Make over the last three years in multiple capacities, beginning as a volunteer with our Art and Recovery program. Our Board and Staff are excited to welcome her into this new chapter and look forward to the ways that Make will continue to serve our community under her leadership. Join me in welcoming her to the team and help us make her feel especially comfortable in this new role!

With growth comes much change. Beginning July 1, I’m looking forward to continuing my calling at Make in a different capacity that allows for more artistic opportunities. I will serve as Executive Director, Emeritus on the Advisory Team and as Gallery Director, bringing local and regional artists an opportunity to honor God with their gifts. We will also appoint our Art Therapist, Elizabeth King, ATR-BC, LPC as Director of Art Therapy. Hannah will then begin her new adventures as Executive Director. What an exciting time to be a part of Make Creative Studio ministry!

Your ongoing support has been a key to the success of this little studio. We are deeply grateful for you – our participants, volunteers, prayer partners, donors, and artists – and to your willingness to support Make. Like the potter with the clay, I look forward to watching how God continues to shape and mold our community.
