Heather is a self-taught intuitive artist who finds the flow and freedom of abstract painting allows her to exhale in the midst of her calendar-driven mom-life. After years as a hobbyist, Heather recently returned to her easel to finally embrace her earliest knowing about herself — she is a creative called by a creative God. Her mission is to:
Bring love and light to the world through fine art.
After some soul-searching, Heather realized she was hiding her childhood dream of being an artist behind her interior design work. It was time to stop choosing the practical path. Painting has helped her process the emotions of her children growing up and leaving home. After 20 years of raising children, her house is growing quieter. It’s bittersweet. However, this new season of life is affording her the opportunity to go after her lifelong dream of being a full-time artist. And it is only sweet. Her mantra in this season is: it’s never too late! Her heart is to help encourage other women in this season to step into what they truly desire for themselves after pouring into their families for so long.
Heather calls Richmond, Virginia, home with her husband and six children (who are launching in rapid succession!). She is in her home studio every chance she gets around family time and her part-time non-profit and ministry work. She loves working with interior designers and happily takes commissions.
She can be found on Instagram @heather.beam.artist and at www.heatherbeam.com (site is currently under construction).
