Open Studio with Kate Burns

Saturdays | 10 AM – 12 PM

Join us for a Saturday morning open studio – a relaxed, drop-in creative time in the studio. Bring a project or get inspired by our studio supplies – anything goes. Watercolor expert, Kate Burns will be available for questions or tips. Register below for just $10 a session.

Introduction to Landscape Painting Course (Water mixable oils or acrylics)

Thursdays 9 AM – 1 PM | 9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16

In this six week landscape course with artist Carson Overstreet, students will learn the principles of landscape painting focusing on value and composition while incorporating the philosophies of artists such as Scott Christensen and the late Edgar Payne and John Carlson.

This class is academic in nature with a daily lecture component, demo and student painting. Students should be comfortable experimenting with color mixing on their own as the focus of the class is geared towards foundational principles not brushwork or learning how to mix colors though these topics may arise organically.

This course is designed to challenge and promote growth in students of any skill level and is suitable for acrylic or water mixable oil painters

Landscape Painting Course: Dive Deeper Into Big Skies (Water mixable oils)

Fridays 9:30 AM – 1 PM | 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 11/7, 11/14

Having learned the principles of landscape painting (value and composition), dive deeper in this eight-week course with Carson Overstreet. It’s highly recommended that students have completed Introduction to Landscape Painting with Carson Overstreet, a comparable class or possess equivalent working knowledge prior to enrolling in this course.

Fall Watercolor Workshop

Saturday, Sept. 6 | 9 AM – 12 PM

We are excited to welcome Artist Kate Burns back to the Studio for this fall watercolor workshop! For this workshop, you will learn how to create your own painting modeled after a reference photo that will be provided. Kate will bring you the the basics of watercolor or help hone your already existing skills. $75

The cost of the class covers all needed supplies.

Acrylic Painting Class

Tuesdays 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM | 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 10/7

In this five-week course, students will explore the fundamentals of acrylic painting, focusing on value and composition.  Students have the option to work on a new painting each week, starting with a floral still life and continuing with landscapes, water scenes and animals. Lora will demonstrate how to design and paint a painting from start to finish, including color mixing, paint application, blending and use of values to increase visual interest. Small class size allows for individualized instruction.  The class is designed to make painting approachable and enjoyable for beginning and experienced painters alike.  A supply list will be sent to students in early August.

Fall Watercolor Class

Saturdays, Oct 4–25 | 9 AM – 12 PM

Join professional Artist Kate Burns for this watercolor class.  Class will explore a variety of techniques and skills for the beginner to the advanced.  Students will create 3-4 small watercolor paintings while learning a variety of techniques for both loose and realistic approaches.  $180

Introduction to Drawing

Mondays from 6 – 8 PM | 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10

This class will introduce students to drawing techniques in pencil and charcoal. We will explore various methods for achieving life-like, naturalistic drawings that capture light and shadow. Students will explore concepts like line, shape, value, perspective, and composition, and learn how to use drawing materials effectively. The course will emphasize observational skills, helping students to develop hand-eye coordination and gain confidence in still life drawing. This course will encourage creative exploration and personal expression as well as building a supportive creative community where students can learn from each other.

Express Yourself Through Abstract Art

Friday, 10/10 | 6 – 8 PM

Unlock your creativity in this playful, beginner-friendly workshop where emotion, intuition, and color take the lead. You’ll explore mark-making, layering, and expressive techniques that help you let go of perfection and find your unique visual voice. No experience needed, just curiosity! Taught by Victoria Collins, supplies included. $50

Christmas Watercolor Workshop (1)
