Welcome to Make!
Born from a vision and a prayer, Make Creative Studio was founded in 2019 by Angie Cooke, an educator with a deep love for students from all walks of life. Nestled inside St. Giles Church in Richmond, Make has grown from a spark into a ministry that reflects the healing, restorative power of our Creator through art.
Our Mission
Make Creative Studio cultivates creativity, faith, and community through art—providing a welcoming space for all to learn, heal, and grow.
Where Creativity Meets Compassion.
Make Creative Studio is a nonprofit arts ministry dedicated to building community and empowering lives through creativity. We offer art therapy-based group classes for those facing addiction, poverty, and trauma, walking alongside them as they discover healing and hope through art. Whether it's a child finding joy in paint for the first time or an adult reconnecting with their creative spark, we believe everyone deserves a safe space to be the creation God made them to be. Our work is made possible by the generosity of our community through children's camps, classes, special events, and gallery openings.
Where we show up
Our outreach includes Art & Recovery evenings, weekly art therapy sessions, and Patty's Hope nights for mothers reunited with their children, alongside partnerships with Imago Dei Neighborhood School, Children's Garden Preschool, and Youth Life Foundation of Richmond.
